About PlyPly Furniture

Cut by machine, assembled by hand

PlyPly Furniture and Fabrication is a Seattle-based design studio. We integrate technology and traditional woodworking techniques to create beautiful, functional furniture from a variety of materials.

We believe that everyone should have access to sustainable, high-quality products and the machines that create them. PlyPly does this by offering local fabrication and manufacturing paired with renewable resources that are locally bought.

Our studio

It all started with an idea to turn plywood sheets into 3D forms using a CNC router. Those forms quickly turned into functional furniture and display cases for restaurants and retail spaces in the Seattle area.

We’ve now worked with dozens of Seattle mainstays including Perennial Tea Room in the historic Pike Place Market, La Medusa Italian restaurant, Persephone Coffee and Wine Bar, Little Free Pantries, and more.

PlyPly started in a 350 sq. ft. garage but is now happily nestled amongst the loading docks in the Georgetown neighborhood of Seattle—just a stones throw from the Duwamish waterway.

While PlyPly doesn’t have office hours yet, we’re happy to have visitors and give them a studio tour. Give us a call if you’re in the neighborhood!

About the owner

After attending a furniture design class at the Corcoran School of the Arts in Washington, DC, Ben—owner and designer of Ply Ply—pursued woodworking as a hobby. Following early pandemic lay-offs from a career in transportation planning, Ben set out to use his designs skills to build things that, unlike infrastructure, could be designed, built, and used in a short period of time. He brings innovation, project management, and design thinking to woodworking.

In his spare time, he enjoys backpacking in the Pacific Northwest, drinking a beer, or both at the same time.
